This project constructed approximately one mile (5000 feet) of four strand barbed wire fence along Bear Creek. The average set-back was 25 feet. The active channel width at this project site is 10 feet with an average depth of 5 feet. Both sides of the creek were fenced for a portion of the property, and only one side was fenced for the rest due to steep forested banks on the west side of the creek. This site is used for beef cattle grazing, year round. The riparian area (approximately 1.72 acres) was planted with a mixture of hardwood and conifer trees. The CWA installed an of channel watering system that consisted of a 220v submersible pump and 2 three hundred gallon stock tanks. The landowner constructed 640 feet of the fence, as well as donated 55 wood posts and assisted with installing wood posts with tractor. Furthermore, the landowner will be responsible for maintaining the water system as well as the fence for the life of the project (10 years).
