Beaver Creek Riparian Project

Beaver Creek is a tributary to the Mainstem Coquille River. It flows into the Coquille at approximately river mile 19. This project was completed in cooperation with the neighboring landowner. The total length for both projects was 374 feet. The fence was constructed with woven wire and one strand of barbed on top. The livestock being excluded from the riparian area in this project were beef cattle only. This project was also a continuation of projects completed upstream, in the past. One site had a nose-pump installed, and on the neighboring site, the CWA created a “key-way” for livestock watering. Both landowners assisted with site preparation and project design. The landowners will also be responsible for all fence maintenance for the life of this project (10 years). This includes materials and labor. This site was planted with a mix of native conifer and hardwood trees. These trees were heavily protected (“super” tubes, and vexar tubes) due to the high beaver and elk activity in the area.
