Hatchet creek is a small tributary to the Mainstem Coquille River. Hatchet Creek was identified by the Coos County Technical Advisory team as a valuable watershed for coho salmon rearing and spawning. This project was an extensive enhancement effort on the Hatchet Creek watershed. Work included conducting an extensive “Road and Landing Survey” of the entire watershed, culvert replacements, riparian fencing, channel reconstruction, instream habitat work, tree planting, and replacement of a tidgegate.
