This project was reviewed by the CWA Projects Committee, and ranked high, as well as was recommended and approved by the CWA Executive Committee. It consisted of constructing approximately 4 miles (21,000 feet) of 5-strand barbed wire along the Mainstem Coquille and ½ mile of electric along Iowa Slough, a drainage tributary to the Mainstem. The setback was over 100 feet in many areas, but averaged 80 feet overall. The riparian areas was mixed with areas of well established Myrtle on Conifer and areas of little vegetation. The project also consisted of an extensive water system, due to the size of the project. A total of 14 stock tanks were provided as well as underground pipe and installation. The site will be planted this winter with a mixture of native hardwoods and conifer.
