Our largest restoration effectiveness monitoring project is on the mainstem of the Coquille River within the Beaver Slough Drainage District. The Winter Lake Restoration Effectiveness Monitoring is a 4-year project that monitors the new tide gate infrastructure and the 400 acre ODFW wetland and channel restoration project.
There are 14 different parameters being monitored to determine if the main objectives of the restoration project (improve fish and wildlife habitat) have been met. You can find descriptions of all 14 parameters and a map on the Projects Element Table link below.
The first year of monitoring data has been synthesized and presented in the first annual progress report, link below. As the project continues and more data is collected and analyzed future progress reports will be posted on this page. In addition, we are always looking for volunteers to come out and help collect data, if you are interested please contact Julie at the office.
